Why was my disability claim denied?

If your claim has been denied, it is because the Social Security Administration has reviewed your
medical records, and physical and/or mental capabilities have been attributed to you that would
enable work. The Social Security Administration looks at your work-related abilities such as physical
abilities to sit, stand/walk, and lift/carry, and also assesses your mental abilities to concentrate, persist at
tasks, remember job instructions, and withstand stress. Social Security assesses your residual capabilities
and often make mistakes in determining that, notwithstanding your physical or mental impairments, you
have residual capabilities to do some kind of work.
