When do I need an SSD/SSI attorney?

The vast majority of Social Security Disability and SSI claims are denied at the Initial Claim
and Reconsideration levels, regardless of whether or not you are represented by an attorney
or non-attorney disability advocate. Most claims need to be heard by an Administrative Law
Judge before you have the hope of receiving disability benefits. At this level, having an
advocate is strongly recommended. While an SSD attorney cannot guarantee that you will
be awarded benefits, an attorney can guarantee that the case is properly developed prior
                                    to a hearing date.
